What does ORMUS mean?
ORMUS is a term used in alternative-belief and supplement circles for materials also described as ORME, “M-state” minerals or “orbitally rearranged monoatomic elements.” These labels are not established chemical classifications in mainstream chemistry.
Where did the modern idea come from?
The modern ORMUS narrative is commonly associated with David Hudson and claims about unusual states of precious-group elements. Over time, the concept expanded into spiritual and wellness markets, where it is now attached to products derived from salts, minerals, seawater, soil and gold-related formulations.
Why the terminology is a scientific problem
A chemical material should be characterizable by composition, structure, concentration and reproducible properties. “ORMUS” is used too broadly to guarantee any of those things. That makes blanket statements about benefits, safety or mechanisms unreliable.
